Once you select a library from the Library Selection pulldown combo box. The thumbnail display will show all items within that folder.

Subdirectories within that library located and can be selected from the secondary pulldown combo box on the right.

By default, the subdirectory combo box is set to None, meaning only items in the root folder are displayed. When setting the subdirectory to all, the items from all subdirectories are displayed. You can also create new subdirectories within the library by selecting "Create New" from the subdirectory menu.

Any of the Display Mode Icon options, will only ever work on the folders selected in the library.

There are a variety of ways to interact with an item or multiple items in the thumbnail view.

Double Click Action

Double-Click will always just import the item. It will usually try the current network editor location to place the item.

Right-Click Actions

Many of the right-click options are context or better file type specific options.

• Import just imports the asset. Its the same as double-clicking on the asset.
• Copy Path copies the location of the file to the clipboard to be pasted elsewhere
• Replace Thumbnail from Viewport will overwrite the items thumbnail with what is currently visible in the viewport
• Use custom Image as Thumbnail lets you use an image from disk as thumbnail.
• Find Current Thumbnail on Disk will open up the location of the thumbnail on disk
• Save Items to Quickset lets you assign the Item to a quickset. See Tags / Favorites / Multi PBR Sets & Quick Sets for more info.
• Load Quickset load a quickset into the thumbnail view.
• Set/Edit Tags lets you define the tag/metadata for an item. See Tags / Favorites / Multi PBR Sets & Quick Sets for more info
• Clear Tags clears the tags/metadata for an item
• Set Favorite adds the item to the favorites list. Tags / Favorites / Multi PBR Sets & Quick Sets for more info.
• Clear Favorite clears the item from the favorites list
• Build Library Thumbnails will create thumbnails for any selected item. If no item is selected it will create thumbnails for all items. Only items without thumbnails will have their thumbnails created. To overwrite a thumbnail, please clear it first
• Clear Library Thumbnails will clear the selected items thumbnails.
• Export named Thumbnails lets you export the selected items thumbnails to another folder, with their icons named according to the items.
• Select Items without Thumbnails will select any items that do not have thumbnails on disk
• Copy to another Library will copy the selected items to another library. All tags/favorite settings will be copied
• Move to another library will move the selected items to another library. All tags/favorite settings will be copied
• Open externally (Mplay/Gplay) will open the asset out of context in the Houdini Mplay/Gplay app, depending on the type of asset.
• Build Diffuse Material (only available when an image is selected) allows you to create a material using the selected image as a diffuse channel.
