Overview
The object reader will import a Lightwave Object (LWO2 / LWO3) into Houdini. Currently Supported
- Points
- Polygons
- Layers (imported as groups)
- Pivots (imported as point attributes)
- Curves (click setup Curves after import)
- Bones (imported as lines, to make it easy in case you need to actually reconstruct the bones)
- WeightMaps (imported as point attributes)
- UV Maps (imported as vertex attributes - first UV is also renamed to uv (as houdini requires uvs to be named uv, uv1, uv2, uv3, etc. You can simply add an attribute rename to specify which UVs to use)
- absolute & relative Morphs (imported as point attributes - choose setup Moprhs to create a simple morph mixer)
- Vertex Color Maps (imported as vertex attributes)
- Vertex Normal Maps (imported as vertex attributes)
- Materials - LWO2 (pre 2018) Standard material Color hooks, and LWO3 (2018+) will put any images as texture nodes for hookup. Mantra, Redshift and Octane setup is supported.
Any change in options of the LWO Reader will trigger a reload/resetup of the object. To avoid this, freeze the Node.
